Election Libguid

I just did the election libguide and I thought it was very easy to navigate between different links located on the site. I think it will be very easy to show patrons how to use the site. It has some very helpful information on the site. I took the quiz and I got 100 percent yeah me!! I like having quizes attached to the webolution- I think it helps to learn things better.

Crictical Past

Only 49 things happened on my birthday- One of them being a three million dollar zoo that opened up in New York city.. they had lions and tigers, and bears oh my!!! They also showed a guy holding a penguin and a lady touching an alligator.
On thing that really caught my eye was an airplane crash over the rocky mountains in 1951- it killed 50 people and wildlife on the ground- go figure something about Colorado that happened on my birthday. I think this a really useful site and will recommend it to patrons.
I thought the food safety guide had some useful information and I will be sure to use it in the future at home.

New Library Catalogue

I have used this for quite a bit of searches- it is easy to navigate. I especially like the "new" dvd site- so that we can put holds on current movies that are out. I also like the features at the top where you can select audio, visual, or sound recording.

Newseum

Thought this was a fun task to do.. I liked looking at the different newspapers from America, and the ones overseas too. Even though alot of them I couldn't read. I think this is a great resource for our patrons. Always good to know what is going on in other parts of the world.

Optimal Resume

I was finally able to take some time and work on Optimal Resume- it is a very interesting site, and I think it has a lot of great ideas for folks who need to brush up on their resume and who are looking for a job in this recession- it was neat to look at all the information that we have available for our patrons-I liked how the outline for the resume was all lined out so all you have to do is fill in the information. Can't wait for our next task.

Print Friendly

Wow!! Finally I did the print friendly webolution task- it went pretty well. I think it's great that all you have to do is type in a url in print friendly and it removes unwanted images etc.. I think this is going to be great to use so you don't get all the advertisements etc- when you go to print something out.

Learn A Test

Finally was able to to do learn a test. I went to a fourth grade math competency test and was able to pass it- missing only 4 of the 20 questions- seeing as math has changed since I was in the fourth grade, I really didn't think I would be able to pass it, but I did. I then went and answered a few questions to the Citizenship test, but alas the questions that I did, I got wrong. So it was back to the fourth grade reading test- where you read a little story and answer questions at the end- again I passed with flying colors- found out my memory is not as bad as I thought it was getting. I also, think this is a great resource for our patrons.

January Task Ebooks

Alas, I was on the airplane in September, anxiously awaiting my destination- when the lady in the aisle next to me whips out what looked like a mini- and I mean mini computer- but to my surprise it was an e book reader, - she was reading her book, but didn't actually have the book in her hands- I thought it was pretty cool, for the whole two hour flight she read- I think they are really neat little devices and would be great to have when taking a trip etc.
I downloaded the adobe reader- and was able to check out a book-to my surprise the book I downloaded was "The Count of Monte Cristo" 511 pages to be exact- I read the first two pages, and found that it was very interesting, to be able to read a book on my computer screen. I think this is a great idea for people that have a hard time with their vision and love to read.. down loading was very easy- once I asked Janet what I was doing wrong, the rest was a piece of cake.

Can't wait for the next task
