Task # 9 Universal Class

I think this is a pretty cool web site. I looked at several of the classes that were offered and
I signed up for a couple. One was on Journaling and the other one is on food and nutrition. I thought I would have time to do them at home, but my computer is not working right. So once I
get it up and going, I'll be able to dedicate time to both of them. I think it's great that the instructors send you an email and welcome you to the class. Also, included is a class outline which comes in very handy. I can see many home school parents using this source of information.

Task # 8

Thought that this task was kind of complicated at first. I did not go to either of the trainings- so it was hard to navigate through the web site. I didn't realize that you paste the url into the google translate box, after I got that figured out- I was able to move onto the quiz. I think this website will be very beneficial to our patrons. I did the quiz and I got a 7 out of 9 right, so I really didn't think I did that bad. I want to thank all the people who put this on our home page for all of their hard work. You all did GREAT!

Task # 7 Cloud Computing

I read the article and watched the videos. I think both google docs and drop box have good qualities about each of them- but I think I would be more likely to use the drop box method. It doesn't seem nearly confusing as google docs and I understood it more.

Helping Patrons

I thought it was fun to do the quiz- in fact I got 100 % on it. It's great and useful information to see how much you remember from previous tasks we have done.
My multiple choice question would be "In the Song of Alaska" series what book
comes after Mornings Refrain?

A) Use the KDL database
B) Use the homework help database
C) Use Novelist Plus database
D) Both A and C

Hope I did this correctly...Anyone know the answer?

Extra Credit "A Google A Day"

I thought this task was fun and will look at it and use it every now and then- I did all the questions
but only got one right :( -
I also think it's neat that you can submit an answer and it will tell you if your right or wrong- if your wrong you can try again- or you can say show answer.
I still would like to be in the drawing for the $100.00 downtown gift card.

#5 Chilton's Task

I find this task to be very easy, I use Chilton's at home
all the time to help my husband when he is doing car repairs and needs a diagram.
I have also helped patrons here at the library on how to use this website, I had a lady come in one day and I showed her how to use the web site, as she was replacing
the brakes on her car, and the book that she needed was checked out.
I find that the site is very user friendly. I think it also helps those that can't make it to the library to check out books, but can go online and get the information there.
Ready for task # 6 :)

Task #4 Downloading E Books

PART 1:

So the article I found was Consumer Reports December 2010, "E-Book Readers" - I found the article very interesting. To compete for business as of 2010 - the Amazon Kindle and the Barnes and Noble nook- were selling their readers from the high end of $260.00 to the low end of $140.00.
Then there is the budget wi fi models- where you can buy the nook or the kindle and have wi fi connection at a price cut of $50.00. I think out of what I read, I would like to have the Barnes and Noble nook- it has an easy to read touch screen, it's clear as a printed book page, and of any ereader it has the longest battery life, it can last up to two months on one charge.

PART 2:

Part two of this question is very simple, I would download the over drive application, then go to Mesa County Libraries and then search the catalog for what I would like to listen too- and then I would download the item and away I would go.

Task # 3 Intro to Masterfile

I have used Master file before, but found the tutorial was well worth it- gave me more pointers on searching...I'm thinking I did the searching right for the smart phone most recent best article - it was in Entertainment Weekly- April 15, 2011- and it was called "Your Guide to the latest tablets and smart phones" hope this was correcto..
The article that appeared on January 9, 1992 in Rolling Stone was the cover story on "Michael Jackson" the Making of the King of Pop.
I would like to have another chance at winning the $100.00 down town gift certificate- I would love to have $100.00 to spend just on me- is that selfish or what???

Webolution 2011

Did my first task this morning and learned some things I didn't know about- like for instance
I have never used Kdl before and now I am going to start using it, it looks like a very
valuable resource.
I also knew the hours of the Gateway Library- as I went down to cover last week.
I am so glad to start doing webolution again- can't wait for the next task.
I would like to be entered into the drawing for the down town gift certificate...
Thanks again
